Dolls

I like dolls. Who doesn't like dolls. Well, I guess boys don't. At least they can't tell anyone if they do. Isn't it really kind of a crazy thing that men love their babies and like to hold them and play with them, but never really got to practice.
I have had lots of dolls. I had a Tiny Tears. The baby that can drink from a bottle and wet her diaper. It is fun to have big dolls that you can dress in baby clothes. I had a small plastic doll that for some reason I loved to play with. That is until she got stepped on and shattered into pieces. My big brother stepped on her. It was an accident but it sure hurt my feelings. I guess I cried a lot about it. Then my big brother did the nicest thing. He said we could have a funeral for her. We wrapped her up in a piece of material and dug a hole under a tree. We sang a song and he said some serious things that I guess you say at a funeral. I had never been to one, but he went to my Fathers funeral when he was 10. I was just three so I did not go. Anyway, I was so happy that we did that together and was not mad at him anymore.
My best friend Georgie had lots of dolls. She had Barbies and lots of clothes for them. We would get them out and set up everything, but we never played Barbies very long, we would rather be outside playing a spy game we made up.
One year we decided to give each other a Chatty Kathy doll for Christmas. We talked about it all the time. Well, of course we didn't have that much money to spend on each other, but Georgie did get one. The great thing about Georgie getting great things like that is, she always shares with me.
Another thing that Georgie had at her house that was special was a collection of dolls from different countries. She had a rich Aunt that always gave her things like that. They were kept on a shelf in the music room. She had a room in her house with a piano, so I called it the music room. I loved to look at these dolls. It gave me something to do if I was there when Georgie had to practice the piano. Crazy thing about it was the dolls were really not to play with. After awhile her mom put plastic wrap across the shelf so they wouldn't get dusty. Oh well, it was still fun to look at them.
